Air Raiders Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When did the Air Raiders debut?
A: Aug. 1987-Sept. 1987

Q: Is it true that the Air Raiders were planning a second wave?
A: Yes! We now have confirmation that a second wave was in the works! Thanks to our friends at "Airlandia: A Fan Site for Air Raiders" created in 2017, prototypes existed and were featured in a 1988 dealer catalog. https://airlandia.wordpress.com/2017/10/19/the-forgotten-toyline/

Q: Was there a cartoon of the Air Raiders?
A: Yes and no.  There were cartoon clips that were produced by Sunbow in the Air Raiders toy commercials. They followed a similar theme such as Hasbro's G.I.JOE and Transformers cartoon clips that tied in with the figures.  A number of the G.I.JOE voice actors took part in the cartoon clips.  But there unfortunately was no 30 minute cartoon tie in to the line, which would have drastically helped its chances of surviving. We have also learned there was a pitch to create a cartoon.

Q: Does the Air Refinery exist?
A: I have never seen it other than the catalog picture.  It was probably scrapped in production due to the apparent low sales of the line, but I cannot verify that

Q: Does the Mail-Order Air Raiders kit, included Emperor Aerozar and Baron Jolt exist?
A: Yes, it does exist!  It was going in an ebay auction in summer of 2007, see the picture below!
